Sepsis diagnosis of Tamil asylum seeker girl highlights danger of life-threatening blood infection

Three-year-old Tharnicaa Murugappan, who was flown from Christmas Island to Perth Children’s Hospital on Monday night after being sick with vomiting, diarrhoea, and dizziness for several days, is one of tens of thousands to be diagnosed with sepsis this year.
