As LG pulls out of the smartphone market, the Korean giant is shifting its mobile facilities to produce home appliances, PCs, and monitors.
LGs plant in Manaus, Brazil, has been approved for an expansion that will see monitor and laptop production move there from its Taubaté site on the east coast, which was originally set up to make phones as well as monitors and laptops. The move will see LG consolidate its manufacturing in Manaus, with Taubaté repurposed as a customer call centre.
