Victoria will receive an additional 130,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine amid fears the latest outbreak could result in a significant number of deaths in aged care facilities.
Under the scheme, the federal government will send 40,000 doses to the state this week with a further 15,000 to be distributed each week for the following six weeks.
Aged care will be prioritised with 29 facilities yet to receive a single dose of the vaccine.
It comes after close to 16,000 jabs were administered yesterday…
