NSW Health has issued a fresh alert after fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 were detected in Sydneys sewage network, despite no new local cases of the virus.
The discovery was made at a sewage network site in Homebush during routine monitoring.
The catchment treats waste from about 40,500 people across more than a dozen suburbs in Sydneys inner west and western suburbs.
