Border uncertainty sees hoops forgo Victorian rides to get north early for Saturday’s Group 1s
Star Victorian jockeys with Group 1 rides in Queensland have made the mad dash north to ensure they are not locked out of the state.
Group 1-winning hoop John Allen, who rides Queensland Derby favourite Explosive Jack, caught a flight on Tuesday night, while Ben Allen, who will ride Let’s Karaka Deel, Craig Williams and Jye McNeil were headed to the airport on Wednesday morning. They all stood down from their rides at Sandown on Wednesday.
