With its comfort, quietness, on-road tech and stylish lines, this new vehicle muddies the line previously drawn between it and the more sophisticated Discovery.
What is it? The five-door, six-cylinder version of Land Rovers toughest model, the Defender. We mentioned it in the recent travel issue of Life & Leisure but wanted to provide more automotive detail. Although the Defender is always described as iconic, the name turned up as recently as 1990 to distinguish the original bare-bones Landie from the newer, more comfortable Discovery variant.
