Homesick Canberra Raiders halfback George Williams has been granted an immediate release by the club.
The English No.7 had reportedly been homesick for weeks and was let go on Tuesday after withdrawing from training and this weekends game.
In a statement the Raiders described the situation as untenable.
George and his partner have asked on a number of occasions for a release to return to England to be closer to their families and weve decided to grant their request, Raiders CEO Don Furner said….
