Brookfield likes the look of Optus, Telstra towers – The Australian Financial Review
Brookfield’s going it alone in its quest for its next big Australian infrastructure play.
Brookfields already a big owner of telecom towers globally. Its portfolio includes 130,000 odd towers in India acquired from Reliance Jio in 2019, which required a $US3.4 billion equity cheque, and Frances Telecom Infrastructure which it bought in 2015.
Locally, its telco sector assets include a half share of Vodafone NZ and DCI Data Centres, both acquired in 2019.
For now, the focus is on the SingTel portfolio auction. Bids are due to sale adviser Bank of America on June 17, as Street Talk revealed…
