Lengthy Sideline Stint Expected For Gardiner – Brisbane Lions
The Lions injury list has been dealt another blow.
Lions defender Darcy Gardiner will undergo shoulder surgery on Wednesday and faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
The 25-year-old dislocated his right shoulder in the Lions 73 point victory over the Suns on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
It is the same shoulder he has dislocated twice before and Lions high performance manager Damien Austin said the decision was made to strengthen the joint with surgery.
He had a surgical review today and will have a shoulder operation tomorrow, he said.
