NRL confirms zero tolerance will apply to Origin, and Fittler says sin bins inevitable – Sydney Morning Herald
Referees have always been lenient during Origin but the NRL’s crackdown on high contact will continue into the representative arena.
Weve got a responsibility to the clubs to make sure their players come back in a fit and healthy condition so they can continue playing for their clubs. Weve asked the players to adjust. Theyve now got a few weeks between now and Origin. I would like to think they can adjust very quickly.
I would like to think we can see a significant improvement by next weekend. Then if things continue to improve then hopefully by the time we get to Origin hopefully its not an issue because we wont see players…
