Former Fremantle defender Zac Dawson has revealed the Dockers targeted him before luring Ross Lyon from St Kilda, despite the belief that Lyon was the only reason the club recruited him.
Dawson spent three seasons at St Kilda and played in the 2009 and 2010 grand finals after Lyon developed him into a key member of the defensive unit.
Having previously struggled at Hawthorn, Dawson then moved to the Dockers after Lyon replaced Mark Harvey as coach.
