Mental health distress spikes for women, the young and pre-schoolers’ parents during pandemic – Sydney Morning Herald
Governments and scientists are scrambling to understand the wider impacts of the upheaval caused by the virus. Using fresh responses from 17,452 people, British researchers were able to score a person’s mental health out of 36.
“I think we can say now, though, that there has already been an effect and that can’t be underestimated,” Dr Pierce said in an interview on Tuesday.
“If someone is suffering from bad mental health now, that needs attention. It also doesn’t just affect them. It affects their children, it affects society.”
