Tigers coach fires up in defence of maligned No.7 — ‘can’t believe one player can get hammered’
Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has launched an impassioned defence of his halfback Luke Brooks in the wake of a big Magic Round victory on Friday night.
Brooks was a star as the Tigers rolled the Knights 36-18 at Suncorp Stadium.
The diminutive No.7 scored a try himself and set up two for his teammates, while also running for a stunning 167 metres and having two tackle busts.
It was easily his best performance this season, but Brooks generally cops plenty of flak from fans and commentators alike.
