Japan declares virus emergency for three more cities ahead of Olympics – Sydney Morning Herald
The country has been struggling to slow infections ahead of the Games.

Under the extended state of emergency, the three additional areas will join Tokyo, Osaka and four other prefectures already under restrictions until May 31. Bars, karaoke venues and most entertainment facilities are required to close. Business owners who comply will be compensated; those who dont could face fines.
