Hot off her award-winning performance as Margaret Thatcher in “The Crown,” Gillian Anderson has joined the second season of Hulu’s acclaimed period comedy-drama “The Great”.
Anderson has officially signed on for a guest-starring role in two episodes of the new run of the Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult-led series about the rise of 18th Century Russian ruler Catherine the Great.
Anderson will play the role of Catherine’s mother Joanna, a glamorous socialite from Germany and a ‘maestro of marriage’….
