UFC megastar Conor McGregor tops 2021 Forbes list as world’s top-earning athlete – Wide World of Sports
Yet just a fraction came from fighting

Conor McGregor was the world’s top-earning athlete in the past 12 months, Forbes has revealed in its annual sports rich list.
The UFC megastar made $US180 million ($233m), Forbes reported, with most of his earnings coming outside the octagon.
McGregor made just $28.5 million from fighting, a lost UFC bout against Dustin Poirier, with the remainder coming mostly through the sale of his majority stake in Proper Twelve, his Irish whiskey brand. McGregor made $194 million from that business transaction.
