Supercars icon Neil Crompton has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Crompton, who twice finished third at the Bathurst 1000, has been the long-time ‘Voice of Supercars’ through a variety of TV roles dating back to the 1980s.
He was diagnosed in the lead-up to April’s round of the championship in Tasmania and will undergo surgery in the coming weeks.
A member of the sport’s Hall of Fame, the 60-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.
