Half of Irelands nursing homes inspected over confirmed cases of Covid-19 did not meet infection prevention standards, an inspector found.
One had left bedroom doors open for residents who had tested positive for Covid-19.
In another, staff were observed caring for residents in close proximity without using surgical masks, in line with official health guidance.
