Howe grounded: High-flying Pie set for hamstring surgery – The Age
Collingwood defender Jeremy Howe was pushing for a return to the senior team but now needs surgery on his hamstring and will miss a large chunk of the season.

Howe missed much of last year after injuring his knee in round four. He returned for round one this season and immediately found form, appearing to have lost none of his spring. He then hurt his hamstring during the round five loss to the Eagles in Perth.
To make the timing worse for Collingwood, they will also be without key defender Roughead for the contest against the Swans, who have Buddy Franklin up forward, as well as wingman Murphy.
