Impact investing is not just about a single asset class so it’s hard to gauge whether funds are really delivering, writes Tony Featherstone.
More than $100 billion could be allocated to impact investing in Australia in the next five years, according a Deakin University survey of 125 investors. Much of this growth will be in green, social and sustainability bonds that account for 85 per cent of local impact investing.
For all the potential, retail investors have few options in impact investing. Of 111 impact-investing products identified by RIAA, three are open to small investors.
