More than iPads or Android phones, a cheap Google tablet is what the world needs right now.
Eight years ago, Google released the Nexus 7, a 7-inch Android tablet, running a reference version of the Jelly Bean 4.3 OS. Produced in cooperation with Asus, it was fast, ran all Android smartphone apps, and — most significantly — was at the time inexpensive: $229 with 16GB of RAM in its basic configuration.
