A comprehensive study has found a simple change in how a common piece of medical equipment is used could save millions of dollars and improve outcomes for patients….

Professor Rickard said she hoped hospitals would take notice of the findings, and she was confident they would eventually become best-practise measures around the country.
Hospitals want routines, but these days they want them to be based on scientific evidence, she said.
Every few years the various guidelines from the National Health and Medical Research Council will be updated based on the latest evidence, so Im sure that will happen here.
