Aerial mapping provider Nearmap said it will vigorously defend itself against legal action by a US rival accusing it of patent infringement. Its shares crashed more than 21 per cent on Thursday over concerns about the court case.
Eagleview, which dominates the US market for aerial mapping, has commenced legal action in the US District Court in Utah, alleging Nearmap has infringed its patents relating to aerial roof reports – a lucrative market in the US.
