Major supermarkets have placed buying limits on face masks ahead of the law beginning on Thursday requiring people in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to wear them.
Retail outlets have placed buying limits on face masks as Victoria prepares to enforce a new rule to stop the spread of coronavirus.
From 11.59pm on Wednesday, anyone living in Metro Melbourne or Mitchell Shire faces a $200 fine for not wearing a mask or face covering in public.
Just hours after Sundays announcement from premier Daniel Andrews, people were seen flocking to stores to buy masks.
On Monday, Mr Andrews urged stores not to price gouge.
