Karmichael Hunt’s return to Red Hill was sealed with a phone call from Kevin Walters on the second Sunday of April.
Off the back of the Broncos embarrassing 35-6 to Souths in Sydney, the Broncos head of football Peter Nolan contacted Hunt and told him to expect a phone call.
Then, the icing was put on the cake for Hunt as Walters number flashed on his phone on April 11.
It was quite the backflip given days earlier Walters had told foxsports.com.au he was not in the picture to return after Hunt said he wanted to solve the Broncos halves crisis and play five-eighth.
