The BBC’s “Line of Duty” has just finished its sixth season in the UK on Sunday night with a record-breaking viewership of 12.8 million in overnight viewers and a 56.2% audience share.
That makes it the most watched episode of any drama since modern records began in 2002, not including soaps. Considering changing viewing habits in the last two decades means getting large audiences for scripted series is much harder now than it was two decades ago, the feat is all the more impressive.
