Olympian Nancy Kerrigan enlisted to help save Tasmania’s last ice-skating rink

Campaigners have enlisted the star power of Olympic ice skater Nancy Kerrigan in a bid to keep Tasmania’s only ice rink open.
Key points:
- Tasmania’s only ice-skating rink is up for sale
- There’s a campaign for it to be kept as a working rink
- American skating star Nancy Kerrigan has been enlisted in support of the campaign
The Glenorchy ice rink, in Hobart’s northern suburbs, has been an institution for Tasmanians since 1980, but it is up for sale and the land could be redeveloped.
In a paid-for video posted online, former American national figure skating champion Nancy Kerrigan said she was devastated to hear the news of the potential closure of the rink.
