Nickajack Cave just missed the final 24 that competed in the Melbourne Cup but it was debatable whether the stayer would have been allowed to run in the Flemington event last November.
Racing Victoria vets have ruled Nickajack Cave unfit to race in their jurisdiction but Racing NSW had no issue allowing the horse to compete in Sydney.
