The parents of a young girl who died at Perth Children’s Hospital have begun a hunger strike outside the facility as they demand answers about their daughter’s death. 

Aishwarya Aswath, 7, died early last month after awaiting treatment in the hospital’s emergency department for two hours.

Her parents, Aswath Chavittupara and Prasitha Sasidharan, began a hunger strike just after midnight when the eased COVID-19 restrictions in Perth took effect.
