Heavy rainfall dumped on SEQ ahead of long weekend
Heavy rainfall has pelted south-east Queensland in time for the long weekend, with more than 100 millimetres being dumped on the Sunshine Coast overnight.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Peter Markworth said Bells Creek South copped 136 millimetres.
“Most of the rainfall was seen on the Sunshine Coast between Maroochydore and Bribie Island,” he said.
“There was also heavy rainfall throughout the Greater Brisbane region with Woody Point getting 65 millimetres, Kippa Ring had 73 millimetres and Bribie Island saw 62 millimetres.
“The Brisbane Airport also received 16.6 millimetres while the city got 6.2 millimetres.”
