Dave Wessels has announced he’s stepping down as Melbourne Rebels coach effective immediately.
After four years of underwhelming results, Dave Wessels has announced he’s quitting as Melbourne Rebels coach.
- Wessels has resigned as head coach but will remain with the club in a transitional role
- He took over as head coach of the Rebels at the end of 2017
- Wessels says it’s time to “pass the baton to someone else”
Wessels won’t continue through the upcoming trans-Tasman portion of Super Rugby season, with a replacement to be announced. Assistant coach Kevin Foote is the likely candidate.
