The post-Brexit trade deal between the European Union and the United Kingdom is now official after its final vote.

The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favour of the trade deal, the final legal hurdle it needed to clear.

EU politicians backed the trade and cooperation agreement by 660 votes to five, with 32 abstentions, the parliament announced on Wednesday.
