Sheffield United’s Aussie sponsor stripped of licence after collapse – Sydney Morning Herald
The English Premier League upstarts have distanced the club from the collapse but the administrator to Union Standard Group says the deal was through its Aussie arm.
The group’s administrator, Peter Krejci of insolvency firm BRI Ferrier, confirmed the sponsorship deal was through USG’s Australian arm. “The sponsorship is on the Australian balance sheet as a pre-payment to Sheffield United,” Mr Krecji said. The three-year sponsorship deal was said to be worth about £21 million ($37 million).
