The person was staying at the Mercure on George Street earlier this month when they tested positive to the B.1351 variant of the virus.

NSW reported 12 new overseas-acquired cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday, amid rising overseas case numbers across the country.
There have been 51 overseas-acquired cases detected in Sydneys quarantine system over the past week.
Although the state has not recorded a locally acquired COVID-19 case this month, NSW Health warned testing numbers were very low, after just 4790 people were tested during the reporting period.
