The Australian world No. 1 has achieved a winning streak Naomi Osaka, Maria Sharapova and several other tennis stars could never manage.
When Ash Barty completed her 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 win against Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix, she achieved something Naomi Osaka, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Amelie Mauresmo and Simona Halep never could.
The victory was Bartys 10th in succession over a top-10 opponent. The Australian star has not lost a match against a top-10 rival since a round robin defeat to Kiki Bertens at the WTA Finals in Shenzhen in 2019.
Its a streak which validates the Australians claim earlier…
