The COVID-19 vaccines are here. Now what do we do? – Sydney Morning Herald
It’s been deemed “the beginning of the end of the pandemic”, but a vaccinated population may not facilitate a return to life as we used to know it.
There is emerging but not conclusive evidence that the vaccines limit but do not eliminate the spreading of the virus. If reintroduced to Australia, COVID-19 likely could recirculate at low levels.
If you import a massive number of infections from overseas, you get into trouble. And thats where there will be a balancing act, says Professor Richard Holden, an economist based at the University of NSW.
You could say, Were going to take some risk, because our risk is significantly reduced.
