‘Are we not picking our players out?’ Pies coach thought ‘dumb’ jumper clash might’ve hurt team
The AFL has been lashed for a dumb decision to allow a blatant jumper clash in the biggest home and away game of the year between Collingwood and Essendon.
In front of the biggest crowd since the COVID-19 pandemic began, both clubs wore a primarily black guernsey, making it difficult for players and fans to distinguish between the two sides at a glance.
It was such an issue that Magpies coach Nathan Buckley actually asked his players at halftime whether they were unable to pick out their teammates.
