Traces of the COVID-19 virus have been detected in two separate sewage catchments in NSW – one of which comes from Sydney.
Health authorities say it is likely the fragments come from people who have previously had COVID-19, who are shedding the virus weeks after their recovery.

One affected sewage catchment is from northern Sydney while the other comes from the NSW south coast.
