Canterbury’s hopes of a smooth welcoming for Penrith’s Matt Burton has become more unlikely after Penrith chief executive Brian Fletcher revealed he wants the young gun to backflip on his deal with the Bulldogs for next year.
Burton, 22, is expected to join Canterbury in 2022, linking with former Penrith assistant Trent Barrett, who became the Bulldogs’ head coach this year.
