Housing crisis in Katherine forces renters to wait months for a home

Chelsea Coutts moved back to her hometown of Katherine last year to avoid COVID-19 lockdowns in Brisbane, but found herself locked out of the rental market.

Ms Coutts told the ABC it took her five months to find a home to rent in the Northern Territory town, 320 kilometres south-east of Darwin

“We looked at seven or eight homes and we were knocked back or received no reply,” she said.
