The North Queensland Cowboys have signed halfback Chad Townsend to a three-year deal beginning in the 2022 season.

North Queensland have announced the signing of premiership-winning Sharks halfback Chad Townsend on a three-year deal starting in 2022.
Townsend, 30, told his Cronulla teammates on Wednesday morning that he would be departing his junior club and is due to speak to the media around midday.
The playmaker had options in his contract to remain at the Sharks for the next two seasons but confirmed his move to Townsville after meeting with incoming Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon.
