A full review is underway after the breach involving a COVID-19 patient at Royal Perth Hospital.
An investigation is under way after a second COVID breach occurred at Royal Perth Hospital yesterday.
A staff member caring for a COVID-positive patient removed their surgical mask before completely exiting a patients room.
The incident was detected immediately and the staff member was placed into self-quarantine.
Health Minister Roger Cook said in these circumstances, each member of staff has a buddy that enters the room with them to supervise the correct PPE protocols are being followed.
