The NSW government reveals a new Mad Max movie, starring Chris Hemsworth, and set to be released in mid-2023, will be the biggest ever film made in the state.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says NSW has cemented itself as Australia’s cultural capital, after revealing a blockbuster new instalment to the Mad Max franchise will be filmed in her state.
- The film is being supported by federal and state incentives that aim to bring more movies to Australia
- Some scenes will be shot in Broken Hill where rain thwarted plans to film the last Mad Max film
- The blockbuster will create 850 local jobs and inject $350 million into the NSW economy
