Roller skaters booted as mega gym moves in
Stafford Skate Centre owner Rob Carter said he would be entering retirement a few years earlier than expected after an agreement was finalised on Friday to end his lease in September when World Gym will roll in.The 69-year-old will next month celebrate 40 years of owning the rink which has been operating for almost half a century. He said no one was more disappointed than he was to see one of the last skating rinks in southeast Queensland disappear. “We’ve had kids grow up here,” Mr Carter said….
