Plans for a controversial new ‘Swiss style’ Champions League format from 2024 have moved a step closer after meetings on Friday

The Champions Leagues controversial new 36-team format from 2024 is set for final approval by Uefas executive committee on Monday.
A decision had initially been expected on 31 March but was delayed due to some clubs within the European Club Association (ECA) seeking a greater say on commercial matters for the new competition.
