Brother of missing Brisbane boatie makes plea

Shannon said he believed his brother was still alive after Thursday’s search led to the discovery of his brother’s hat floating in the ocean.
“The hat was a clip-on hat, so he’d have to physically take the hat off,” he said.
“I believe that he was swimming somewhere and the hat was annoying him, so he’s just ripped it off and he’s somewhere on the island or in the ocean.”
Shannon said his brother was very strong and an achiever, making the cover of skateboarding magazine Slam in the autumn 2021 edition and was a very experienced fisherman.
“We just want this search to keep on going,” he said.
