Grazier condemns ‘callous’ and ‘pathetic’ shooting of cows by illegal hunters, police investigating

A Queensland grazier says the “callous” actions of illegal hunters who shot dead and partially butchered two of his prized cows on his property are nothing short of “pathetic”.

- One of the cows killed and partially butchered had been pregnant
- A deer was also found shot dead and decapitated on nearby Seqwater land
- Grazier Kevin O’Brien and police are concerned the hunters pose a serious safety risk
Grazier Kevin O’Brien said he had raised one of the slain cows, which was pregnant, from a young heifer after he had been forced to sell its mother at the height of the drought.
“She was the cream of the crop, this particular one,” he said.
