A team of geologists at the University of Texas suggests that a collection of smooth, red quartzite cobbles, found in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming, was deposited there by dinosaurs coming from Wisconsin, the only area with outcrops of this type of rock.
The study published in the journal Terra Nova is the first of its kind to use so-called stomach stones rocks known as “gastroliths” that are swallowed…
