Gold Coast City Council CEO resigns for health reasons
Gold Coast City Council chief executive David Edwards has resigned weeks into the role for personal and health reasons.
Mayor Tom Tate sent an email to council employees saying he had received the resignation of Mr Edwards on Tuesday night.

Mr Edwards had been in the role since March 22.
“Mr Edwards informed me with regret he is forced to resign for personal and health reasons,” the email from Cr Tate read.
“Council will hold a confidential special meeting next Wednesday to consider another appointment.
“I will update you on the matter as soon as I can after that meeting.”
