A 21-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital with the rare disease – as six others are put on antibiotics.
A 21-year-old woman is fighting for life in hospital after being admitted with a case of invasive meningococcal disease.
The young woman is from metropolitan Adelaide.
SA Health on Monday issued a statement notifying of her condition, saying the strain of the disease is not yet known.
Multiple people who had close contact with the patient have been identified, and six people have been directed to receive clearance antibiotics, the health body said.
